I am a licensed psychologist in private practice in Santa Barbara, California. I also serve as Chair of the Counseling Psychology Department at Pacifica Graduate Institute, and teach classes in theories psychotherapy and psychological assessment.
I work well with articulate, curious, and thoughtful people who take their internal lives seriously...or who want to learn to do so. I take a carefully inquisitive and supportive role and encourage depth work. I encourage moral courage, self-expression and meaning-making. In my experience, good psychotherapy with high-functioning people is usually about surrendering and unlearning.
I am strongly psychodynamically oriented, influenced by both psychoanalytic (in the intersubjective tradition) and Jungian styles. I work well with articulate, curious, and thoughtful people who take their internal lives seriously...or who want to learn to do so. I am LGBTQIA allied .
My career as a psychologist has been broad. My training and early experience happened in inpatient settings...both psychiatric and medical hospitals. I spent several years in community mental health settings with Ventura County Behavioral Health.
I am also a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV - Poland III).
I am a licensed psychologist in the state of California, license number 21019.
